The Strategic Management Holding Company comprises the Executive Board as well as the following departments: Innovation, Finance, Controlling, Legal / Compliance, Corporate Communications, Corporate Development, Internal Audit and Human Resources.

Head of Science and Technology Relations (m/f/d)
Location: Wesel near Düsseldorf

Exciting opportunities await you – as our Head of Science and Technology Relations, you will identify and develop academic research partners, lead the ALTANA Institute, secure public funding for R&D and represent ALTANA in consortia. Your other tasks include:

• Organizing and facilitating the ALTANA Summer School
• Scouting for disruptive technologies
• Developing competencies and knowledge for technology platforms and search fields
• Coordinating Open Innovation initiatives

With this profile, you convince us – you have long-standing experience in R&D or innovation management in an international tech company, a firm grasp of technology challenges and business models in the specialty chemical industry, a good feel for the academic landscape, a strong network into the scientific community and a PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or an equivalent? Then we would very much like to get to know you. Among your other skills and competencies are:

• Expertise in public funding programs for R&D
• Know-how in intellectual property rights
• Excellent communication capabilities for all internal interfaces inclusive of the ALTANA board
• Intercultural awareness and fluency in English; German advantageous
• Familiarity with the workings of interdisciplinary and international teams, ideally as a forward-thinking team player
• Negotiation and representation proficiency as well as strong networking abilities desired
• Open-mindedness, continuous curiosity and a passion for technology and chemistry preferred
• Willingness to travel (minimum 35%)
